POSITION OVERVIEW
Field Smart Hands / Break-Fix Technician supporting enterprise environments.
This role is physical execution only. Remote engineers provide all technical direction.
Work includes onsite hardware swaps, cable tracing, rack/stack, decommissioning, and physical verification tasks.
COVERAGE AREA
Primary: Columbus / Polaris
Secondary (optional): Travel anywhere in Ohio for additional assignments.
Travel is optional but available, and approved mileage reimbursement is provided for qualifying travel assignments.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 3+ years IT, enterprise, or field service experience
• Ability to follow detailed remote instructions exactly
• Comfortable working in enterprise / data center environments
• Basic understanding of networking hardware preferred
REQUIRED TOOLS
Must own:
• Laptop
• Console cable
• Smartphone with data plan
• Drill/driver
• Cable tester
• Basic hand tools
Preferred:
• Punch-down tool
• Crimp tool
• Label maker
WORK SCOPE
• Equipment removal
• Cable tracing and labeling
• Vendor escort / Vendor meet
• Physical connectivity verification
• Site surveys and documentation
