WATCH FOR SCAMMERS!
===================
Not everyone who registers on Craigslist has the best of intentions. To keep yourself from being scammed here's a few tips:
1/ My recommendation is to deal in person and always have your transaction documented in writing;
2/ if you *must* deal at a distance I recommend Paypal for payments only -- never use "Family & Friends" payments with Paypal as that form of payment doesn't have buyer protection;
3/ Scammers lately have been asking for payments or fake deposits via Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, Chime and so on. You may think that you're protected with these forms of payment but that doesn't seem to be the case. Money transfer services like these expect that you know and trust the person you're sending money to, and if you send money to a scammer then you're unlikely to be able to get it back; THIS IS IMPORTANT!! IF YOU SEND MONEY USING THESE MONEY TRANSFER SERVICES YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY.
4/ Watch for weird messages through Craigslist messaging system. Don't respond to scammers asking you to forward them codes you've received via text; Never send a deposit!! Please do not answer ads that have the phone number in the title. Those are more than likely a phone app that can be downloaded on your phone called, "text me app" there's hundreds of phone numbers that can be downloaded. They are simply erased and started again, they are not "real" everyday phone numbers.
5/ For goodness' sake don't use Western Union or Moneygram. They're untraceable and a scammer favorite!
6/ These Scammers live outside of the country. This is their daily job. Also pay close attention to the animals pictures. A lot are stuffed animals and most are taken from apps such as Instagram, facebook etc... Do a google reverse search. If it looks to good to be true it most likely is!
