Hi there. I'm a 31 year old drummer (and multi-instrumentalist) looking to start or join an indie/alternative/progressive band with a dab of post-punk, electronic, post-rock, ambient, post-hardcore, and math rock. It's been a few years since I've been in a band, but I'd like to get back into the scene and start writing, recording, and performing again.
I've recorded numerous EP's here in my home studio, as well to help run sound at venues, book/promote shows, and help as an organizer for the Worst Kept Secret Fest. I also do graphic design, photography, and video production. Needless to say, I can help any project with the production, promotion, and business side of bands. I'm just looking to meet with new folks to jam with, exchange song ideas, and put together (or join) a solid active band. I would like for it to be fully collaborative, where everyone can contribute to the songwriting and direction of the music.
Influences include everything from Radiohead, At The Drive-In, Minus The Bear, Muse, Circa Survive, The Silversun Pickups, The Pixies, The Mars Volta, Maps and Atlases, This Town Needs Guns, American Football, Cage The Elephant, 30 Seconds To Mars, Tool, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, People In Planes, Dinosaur Jr, The Sonic Youth, New Order, Thursday, The Cure, Dredg, Mewithoutyou, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, Playing To Vapors, etc. These don't necessarily reflect what I want to sound like, but rather what kind of stuff has affected me.
You can hear some demo tracks of material of the most recent project I was working with. It's instrumental as we were looking for a vocalist, but alas never found one before two members moved away for a new job and school. I played bass on this: https://soundcloud.com/izytang/sets/march-2015 (Shoegaze/Post-Punk/Math)
If this sounds like something you're interested in, definitely respond! If you have any, send some samples of recordings of stuff you've done, or some song ideas you have. I have a full rehearsal space and recording setup, so once we find the right people, we'll be able to complete a set of songs, record, and start performing live. Looking forward to jamming!
