EXAMPLE 1:
Using the pair of Powercabs with a Boss IR-2 would give you a "two channel rig" with the Boss IR-2 giving you a wide selection of Amp Simulations..... Run the output of the Boss IR-2 to the two Line 6 112 Plus Powercabs (daisy chain) and have a different selection of mic'd speakers for each Powercab ... Set the Boss IR-2 to amp only (i.e. turn off the cab emulation in the Boss IR-2)..... set the output of the Boss IR-2 to Line Level......select your desired speaker emulation and mic from the Line 6 Powercab 112 Plus.... dial in the Reverb (provided by the Boss IR-2)....bingo what a rig. You would also have the option to run the output of the Line 6 Powercabs 112 Plus to FOH. Also I see that the Boss IR-2 has an effects loop....I'm not sure how this could be used with stereo effects but it most certainly could be..... Note: I have not run this rig so I'm guessing about the setup but you can see there are many possibilities.
EXAMPLE 2: I experimented using one of the Line 6 Powercabs with a Milkman The Amp 100 (XLR Line Output)....sounds fantastic and selecting a speaker emulation and a microphone type offers a wide range of sounds.
The Speaker Emulations include: Flat (FRFR), Vintage, Green, Cream, Jarvis, Bayou, and Essex.
The Microphone Emulations include: 57 Dynamic, 409 Dynamic, 421 Dynamic, 30 Dynamic, 20 Dynamic, 121 Ribbon, 160Ribbon, 4038 Ribbon, 414 Cond, 84 Cond, 67 Cond, 87 Cond, 47 Cond, 112 Dynamic, 12 Dynamic, and 7 Dynamic

Combo Input Jacks - Connect the LINE level output(s) of your
amp modeler to these balanced 1/4" TRS/XLR inputs (e.g., Line 6
Helix® or POD® devices, etc.). A Helix device should be set to Line
Level. A POD® HD device should be set to +4dB. "Amp-in-a-box"
type preamp pedals may require additional boosting to achieve the
appropriate line level for these inputs (maximum +13dBu).
