Electrician needed: Wire replacement

compensation: $50 start, negotiable afterwards

We are looking for someone skilled in electrical wire replacements. We currently have a kitchen light from Europe that doesn't turn on. The contractor who installed it says the wiring needs replaced.

Pay will be based on work needed to perform, because we don't know how. I'll pay $50 for an assessment of our options and we can negotiate from there.

Please provide details of relevant experience and a license number if possible. If any of this is unreasonable, please let me know.
