Headquartered in Winona, Minnesota, RTP Company is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company develops many types of customized thermoplastic compounds for use in a wide variety of industries.
JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler position is responsible for staging raw materials for production and ensuring proper tracking and stewardship of materials in the warehouse inventory control system.
SHIFT AND WAGE INFORMATION
This position works the 1st Shift Production Schedule: 5:45 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. There are occasional opportunities for overtime. The base wage is $22.50 per hour. Employees are paid weekly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner; must be medically cleared and trained to properly wear a dust mask respirator.
* Obtain and maintain in-house forklift operator certification; perform all forklift operation duties with the utmost care and attention to detail.
* Follow all plant safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment; must follow housekeeping rules.
* Ensure customer materials are correctly identified, and warehouse locations are accurate.
* Read and understand material package labels and production process sheets.
* Follow the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) method of inventory usage.
* Properly use an RF scanner to ensure accurate inventory control.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
* Preferred forklift driving experience
* Preferred manufacturing experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standardized work processes while adhering to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
* Must be able to operate/monitor equipment to ensure quality production.
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift.
* Able to pass a forklift driving test and safely operate a forklift.
* Ability to read and follow instructions and procedures.
* Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.
* Must possess a positive attitude.
* Must be willing to work occasional overtime as needed.
* Able and willing to work in temperature extremes, both hot and cold.
* Must be medically cleared and trained to wear a respirator dust mask.
* Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
