Welcome my beloved friends and family to another Sunday evening service. If there are ANY first time readers here today let me take this opportunity to welcome you to this church family. I hope you also will enjoy reading the sermon and continue to follow us each Sunday evening as we dig into the Scriptures together. I also hope that you'll like us on Facebook and invite your friends and family to also come join our fellowship. Also if any of you would like to hear me preach in person please have your own home pastor get in touch with me so we can schedule a time when I can come preach a revival. Now before we go to the Lord in prayer I've got several prayer requests to bring to your attention. Please be praying for my wife for she is having surgery first thing tomorrow morning. Also please be praying that God will grant brother Jeff Freeman peace and provision in his situation. For he has a silent prayer request. Also please keep brother Julius in your prayers for providing not only the financial aid that he's needing for the ministry but also for the medical condition that his wife is in. So as ALWAYS let's go to the Lord in prayer before we begin.

Lord tonight I'm praying that you'll use this sermon Lord to touch the lives of EVERYONE that reads it. Yes Lord prepare our hearts to receive your word tonight. Let the seed of the Gospel fall ON GOOD ground Lord and let it prosper and change our lives. Transform people Jesus into what you'd have us be. Grow your ministry Lord Jesus and use WTLC to reach more and more people and draw us all closer to you. I thank you Lord for everything you've done so far but even more I'm thankful for what you're going to do in our future. I love you Lord Jesus. AMEN

Tonight we're going to continue our series of "ROOTS OF GODLY JOY"! Tonight might VERY well scare you if you're not saved OR if you know a loved one/friend that's unsaved. So without further delay let's dig in shall we.

1). Salvation through Faith in Jesus
(Romans 1:16-18) 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
A). Salvation has come to the world.
(Luke 19:9-10) 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
1). Now remember y'all Jesus is the hope of salvation not works NOT anything but HIM. (1 Thessalonians 5:8-10) 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. (John14:6) 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

2). So okay we're saved BUT what from. What exactly are we saved from? Why do we need to worry about being saved?
A). You're saved from Hell, Fire, Brimstone, and eternal torment. I know this ISN'T a popular way of thinking BUT it's the Biblical way. (REV 21:8) 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

3). So if you DON'T have Jesus as your personal SAVIOUR then you're Hell bound. Scripture makes that clear. So for all those that are Hell bound let's look at what Hell is actually like. There are MANY misconceptions and flat out SATANIC lies about Hell so let's see exactly what Hell is like.
A). Hell is full of weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 25:30) 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Luke 13:28) 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
B). This is a place of eternal outer darkness (Matthew 22:13) 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
1). One MUST stop and think how the night time is so sad and gloomy. This darkness is so dark it's an oppressive darkness. Completely void of light.
C). Hell is a place of EVERLASTING and NEVER ending torment. (Luke 16:23-25) 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
1). One must note here 2 things that are completely apparent.
a). That the rich man could see into Heaven to see what he's missed. Quite frankly this is one reason Hell will be everlasting torments because they'll see what they've missed and spend eternity with MANY regrets that they had the opportunity but DID NOT take it.
b). Notice here that the man had EVERY cognitive sense taste, smell, touch, hearing, and sight, just like we have now. He felt the pain of the fire and of thirst. People in Hell will feel EVERY once of torment they're subjected too as well as the fire burning them.
D). Hell is full of sorrows. People you might think you're in a place now of sorrows but believe me IT'S nothing compared to the sorrow you'll have in Hell. (2 Samuel 22:6) 22:6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
E). This place has absolutely NO rest or relaxation. (REV 14:11) 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
F). Hell is a place of everlasting destruction (2 Thessalonians 1:9) 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
G). Hell is full of FIRE and of brimstone. (REV 21:8) 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
1). This fire is unquenchable.
(Mark 9:44) 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
H). Hell is a lake of FIRE (REV 20:14) 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
1). To get a glimpse of what Hell's fire will be like take a lighter and put it up to your hand lit. Now imagine an even hotter fire engulfing your entire body. NOT fun BUT VERY painful.
I). This place is an inescapable bottomless pit. (REV 9:2) 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
1). Now this pit is full of fire. This fire surrounding your entire body. There's no escaping it. You CANNOT swim out of it. No in fact you just sunk deeper into the pit of fire.

4). Now that we get a GOOD description of such a horrible place like Hell is there a way we can escape it? I mean this really is a horrible sentence to be looming over our heads. Quite frankly I wouldn't even want my worse enemies going here. So is there a way we can absolutely know for sure that we CAN escape such a horrible place and NEVER go there? YES YES YES.
A). It's through Faith in Jesus
(Romans 3:24-25) 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (ACTS 16:30-31) 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
B). DON'T be fooled by SATAN you CANNOT EARN salvation. No SALVATION is a GIFT. (Ephesians 2:8-9) 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
1). Yeah BUT what about the LAW?
a). The LAW was nailed on the cross at Calvary. (Colossians 2:13-14) 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

First off let start by saying that if you'll honestly look at the description of Hell you'll definitely understand why being saved from such a horrible place would bring such joy and contentment to a person. So the next time you're going through a tough time on EARTH think about what you're saved from enduring for eternity and how much worse it could be and is for those who dies without Christ as their saviour and substitute, because remember that SIN has a penalty and that is this place. There's ONLY remission of SIN through Christ Jesus and the BLOOD that HE shed. See without BLOOD shed there's NO remission of sin.

Now concerning those that DON'T know Jesus or have slid backwards and fallen. Jesus IS coming back really soon and those that haven't accepted HIM and repented of their sins WILL be spending eternity in this place we just described called Hell. Do you really WANT to risk going through the horror like we just described? I highly doubt it. Jesus died so we can KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are saved from this place. So why NOT accept Him now to avoid going here. If you want an eternal guarantee of your future you MUST have Jesus and accept His gift of salvation. Just think Jesus not ONLY suffered the MOST horrendous painful DEATH but afterwards went to Hell to get the keys from Satan. Jesus experienced Hell so you DON'T have too. If you'd like to KNOW and experience Jesus and HIS LOVE for you PLEASE pray with me right now. Jesus come into my heart and wash me clean of ALL unrighteousness. I know I'm a SINNER and I CANNOT save my self. So by FAITH Lord I accept your gift of salvation through your blood that you shed at Calvary in my place. I love you Jesus and thank you for saving me. Now help me live a life pleasing to you. AMEN and AMEN
Now if you just prayed that prayer or would like to pray with me PLEASE get in touch with me. I'd love to rejoice with you and personally welcome you into God's loving family.
