Beautiful "petite" antique spinet writing desk dressed in solid deep mahogany, with traditional turned and tapered legs.
The locks are brass (by Eagle Lock Co.) there is no key present, but they are easy enough to find and have fitted (re-keyed) to the lock at a minimal cost, the hinges are brass.
This desk is very well constructed with high end joinery, materials and construction techniques. It features two small storage drawers (also constructed of solid mahogany, and a number of convenient cubbies for smaller loose items. The surface slides in/out to create a larger writing/laptop surface.
This desk dates to late 1800’s early 1900’s. The desk is thought to be a Shaw and would be a great addition to any space or style, traditional or contemporary, large or small. Would also make a great entry way or side table due to it's small footprint.
Now the juice. It's been painted, not by us, you should know us better than that by now. You should know that the price is a reflection of the paint job. You better buy the spinet soon, because we plan to strip it and bring it back to original condition. If it makes it to its project date then it gets pulled. The price will go up significantly once that happens. Good luck.
