Looking for a unique desk with history and personality? This early 1900s kidney-shaped desk from the Maddox Table Co. (Jamestown, NY) has both.
* Dimensions: 50" wide × 22" deep x 30” tall (perfect mid-size for a study or home office)
* Finish: “Ant. Mah” (antique mahogany) with all original hardware intact. Chair is not original, but recently reupholstered.
* Condition: Structurally sturdy and fully functional; drawers GALORE and they all slide smoothly. Has normal wear for its age. See photos. Some surface scratches and one chip from moving internationally. We always planned to refinish it, but life got in the way.
Fun fact: my husband used this desk all through pharmacy school and graduated #1 in his class. We can’t guarantee it’ll make the new owner smarter (lol), but we like to think there’s some good study vibes built in.
This piece sits flush with the floor, making it rock solid and unique compared to most desks of the “Colonial revival” era. It deserves a new home where someone will appreciate its history and maybe even give it the refinishing project it deserves.
