Vacuum Kiln drying lumber and slabs. We have a new state of the art vacuum kiln capable of drying anything as long as it's less then 60in wide and less than 12 feet long.
Vacuum kilns use a combination of heat and no pressure to pull and evaporate water out of the wood. Because of the extremely low pressure they are capable of drying lumber considerably faster then a traditional kiln. We can take a board off the mill and have it to 8% mostiue in one week inside the kiln for 4/4 lumber.
Everything we kiln dry is sealed with anchorseal prior to being put in the kiln this helps with all checking and cracking inside the kiln. Any oak species we do recommend a few weeks of air drying on sticks prior to putting in kiln to help with cracking.
Prices very depending on how much lumber you have and other variables such as time since being milled size quality and amount of lumber you have. Feel free to contact for a quote. No amount is to small!!
