Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final order preparation. May take orders from customers and serve guests at counters.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
Ensuring the line and reach-in cooler are organized and clean.
Receiving in inventory and making sure kitchen is clean, organized and well stocked; and that the equipment is properly maintained and in good condition.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Schedule activities and equipment use with Asst. managers, using information about daily menus to help coordinate cooking times.
Have a high school diploma, have restaurant experience.
Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents.
