ICOM ID-51A VHF/UHF Transceivers offer global D-STAR connectivity and so much more! The ICOM ID-51A dual-band transceivers have a super-compact body and weigh about 9 ounces with a battery pack and antenna. Carry one with you all the time! Waterproof to one meter for thirty minutes, these ICOM ID-51A VHF/UHF Transceivers are rugged and carry an IPX7 rating!

Multiple scan functions and 1,304 memory channels allow for maximum listening convenience. The ICOM ID-51A transceiver's extended-range receiver lets you listen from 108-174 MHz and 380 MHz to 479 MHz. Dual Watch capability lets you listen to two bands at once, or listen to two frequencies in the same band! The wide-range receiver even covers the AM/FM broadcast bands, as well as aircraft and weather bands!

The built-in GPS receiver shows your current position and altitude on the radio's larger 128×104 dot-matrix display and features a position-reporting function in DV (Digital Voice) mode. The GPS will even locate the 20 nearest D-STAR repeaters for you! The GPS log function can also log your position information at regular intervals and stores this information in the onboard micro-SD card for export to your PC.

The D-STAR DV mode has lots of advantages over the analog FM mode: Digitally modulated clear voice; 950 bps data transfer; D-STAR individual calling using your call sign; and access to the worldwide D-STAR repeater network linked via the Internet, just to name a few.
