Up for sale is my 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor with only 76,000 miles—a stunning hardtop convertible that blends classic style with modern upgrades. I purchased the car in 2015 and have maintained it meticulously ever since. It has always been garage-kept, is completely rust-free, and comes with a clean title. With its sleek design and head-turning presence, this SLK230 is ready to impress!
Key Features:
Flawless Convertible Top: Effortlessly switch from hardtop to open-air cruising with the push of a button – the hydraulic system works perfectly.
Modern Upgrades: Equipped with a new, high-quality audio system featuring a microphone for hands-free phone calls, an upgraded front grille, and stylish LED halo headlights for a contemporary look.
Great Condition: The exterior is clean with no rust, dents, dings, or scratches, and the interior with its awesome sound system--which I think is by Bose--makes you forget that this car is 27 years old!
Strong Performance: The 2.3L supercharged engine, featuring Mercedes-Benz “Kompressor” technology, uses a crankshaft-driven forced induction system to compress more air into the cylinders. This allows the engine to burn fuel more efficiently, resulting in a significant boost in power and torque. Paired with a responsive automatic transmission, the car delivers a powerful and exhilarating driving experience.
Low Maintenance: No rust, no smoking history, and always stored in a garage, ensuring this SLK230 is in excellent shape.
Historical License Plates: This car, being over 25 years old, may qualify for historical license plates in your state, which are cheaper and add a unique character and a vintage vibe.
This Mercedes-Benz SLK230 is a rare find, blending timeless design with modern touches that make it stand out. Perfect for weekend cruises or daily drives.
Note: This is a pre-owned vehicle, and while it’s in excellent condition, minor imperfections typical of a 27- year old car may exist. Please review the photos carefully and feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Let’s discuss some TLC- I haven't driven this car in a while, but I start it monthly to ensure it runs well, letting it idle for about 10 minutes. A tune-up is recommended before hitting the road. The headlights and turn signals work, but the turn signals stay on when the headlights are used. A replacement part (Headlight Control Switch, part#: 1705150304) needs to be installed which I found on eBay for $75. Be sure to address this issue before driving at night to ensure the turn signals work properly.
I’m not a dealer, and I don’t sell cars for a living—I’m simply a happy owner of a car I’ve really enjoyed for its unique vibe and design. However, my circumstances have changed, and I now need the space in my garage. Similar low mileage cars of this model are currently listed between $7,900 to over $10,000 online. To account for a needed tune-up and a headlight switch replacement—and because I’m looking to sell it quickly—I’ve lowered my price to just $5,500! It’s priced low to sell fast! Don’t miss out on this classic beauty.
