Here’s the good (see all the pics):
* Car has four nearly new tires with very little wear (tires alone worth at least $600)
* Battery is pretty new and will last for years
* Leather seats are worn but not torn except for the drivers seat which has a seat cover.
* Engine is running great with clean oil but has a slight oil leak
* Transmission fluid has recently been changed (have changed a few times)
* Carpet is still in good shape and there are rubber mats as well
* AC and heater work great (have to put a little freon in every couple years)
* Back up camera (and navigation) still works but screen is dated
* All the seat heaters work including 2nd row seats (there are 3 rows of seats)
* Both key fobs work
* Radiator has been replaced
* Alternator was replaced just last year
* Power steering line was recently replaced
* Sunroof works great with no leaks
* Still a great car in the snow
Here’s the bad
* Timing belt was replaced at around 100K miles
* Shocks and struts have been replaced but car now gives a Check ADS error, ignore it (this is because sport shocks would have cost more than the car is worth so ride was fine and lived with the error light)
* Voice recognition and bluetooth module disconnected due to parasitic drain on the battery (this is a known problem with this car and phone system was old so haven’t missed it being gone)
* Car takes premium gas but I only put in premium once in a while nowadays
* Some rust spots but the car actually looks quite good for it’s age
* Sometimes a warning comes on about catalytic converter (put in cataclean which cleans the catalytic converter as well as royal purple system cleaner, this has cleared up the error)
* Tow hitch on the car but one of the blinker wires is not working
I’ve already been offered $2000 for the car as a trade in but trying to get $3000 for it. Kelly Blue Book says it could be worth up to $4200 but pricing to sell it. And as you would expect, this SUV is being sold as is. I just put up this post so price is firm to start but the longer the post is up, the more I’ll be willing to accept lower offers.
