Up for sale is an original WWII era Fairbairn Sykes British commando fighting knife or 3rd pattern dagger with leather sheath. The guard is marked “Made in Sheffield England” on one side and “William Rodgers” on the other side, along with “I Cut My Way” with a maker’s mark or other emblem between “I Cut” and “My Way”. There is also a “1” marked on the pommel. The overall length of the knife is about 11 1/2” long with about a 7” blade. The sheath is marked “Made in England” and has a slightly unusual design to it, so I do not know if it is the original sheath for this knife or a customized replacement made later. However, I have had this set for over 50 years in the same condition, so it’s definitely older than that. These pieces show typical signs of minor wear from use, but I would say they are in overall excellent condition, especially considering their age and history. If interested, please send me an e-mail and you can stop by to pick it up for $300 (cash only at time of pick up). Thanks for looking!
