This is a cool vintage lockbox with a programmable lock. (The last photo tells you how to program it.) It was made to store your insurance policy but you can store any manner of things. It has a Sesamee Lock as in "Open Sesamee"! The Sesamee company is still in business so they must be doing something right. The Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company of Philadelphia was a historic life insurance company founded in 1865 by a group of Quakers. However, it no longer exists as an independent entity. They had a branch at 303 E Broad St in Columbus which is now the Capital University Law School building.
