We are looking for x86 server hardware technicians who are motivated and proactive individuals who can hit the ground running. Additionally, the desire and ability to create profit opportunities through business development, ongoing collaboration with company staff, existing clients, and assisting in procuring new clients is a plus.
Ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:
• Must be able to obtain limited customer background clearance
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and update documentation if necessary
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• A minimum of 3 years hands-on x86 server hardware support experience
• Support of hardware, networking, disk/storage technology, administrations and application implementation.
• In depth knowledge of server hardware technologies and peripheral integration.
• Experience in a LAN/WAN/VLAN environment. IPV4, SMTP, SNMP, VPN. Switches and Routers, and WAN connection technology (DSL,Cable,T1,Fiber)
• IBM, HP, and Dell server certifications a plus
Responsibilities
• Performs maintenance and support activities for server to ensure that operating efficiency and reliability service levels are met.
• Supports development of long term server infrastructure strategic plans and vendor relationships.
• Maintain server infrastructure documentation and inventory information including technical information, vendor related nomenclature and business agreements
• Track technological changes in server systems and proposes changes to management to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the server infrastructure
• Carry out misc. day-to-day tasks
