I don't know if Strickland is finished. Strickland is small fry compared to that unqualified, Kool-Aid-pouring clown in the White House. Yeah, the one who's spent a million and a half dollars to avoid releasing his alleged birth certificate versus $10 to show it. The one who was raised and mentored by communists, who surrounded himself with radicals and marxists, who's voting record in the Senate was more leftist than everyone else but he ran as a moderate for president. Yeah, that's the guy who is rushing as fast as he can to ram his pork-filled stimulus packages, his Cap-And-Trade horsecrap, and his ghastly socialized healthcare down our throats before enough Americans catch on to him. You, it appears, are either a die-hard lefty also, or else deficient in enough gray matter to comprehend what he's doing. Those Quinnipiac polls are only verifying that Americans are catching on to Obama's agenda. They indicate the country is more likely (if current trends continue) to vote out of office many democrats and replace them with republicans and/or conservatives. Democrats Obama needs to vote for his pernicious agenda. Obama & Co. have a small window of opportunity before the 2010 elections. Enjoy your current monopoly, you tool, because if you think Obama is getting rough treatment now then just wait until after the next elections.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland's lead over John Kasich in the 2010 race for reelection has dropped into a 40 - 40 percent tie, with Ohio voters seeing the possible Republican challenger as better able to handle rebuilding the state economy and handling the budget, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

This compares to a 46 - 36 percent Gov. Strickland lead in a September 15 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University, up from 43 - 38 percent July 3.

Ohio voters approve 45 - 43 percent of the job Strickland is doing, down from 48 - 42 percent September 15 and his lowest overall score ever. And by a 43 - 32 percent margin, voters say the Governor has not kept his campaign promises.

"When Quinnipiac University first began asking about a Strickland-Kasich race for Governor in February, the incumbent held a 56 - 26 percent lead over his challenger. Now they are dead even. Obviously a lot has changed: the Governor's own ratings have gone down more than the challenger's have come up," said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "Moreover, when voters are asked who could do a better job handling the state budget and rebuilding the state economy they say Kasich. We still have a year to go, but Kasich is in much better shape than one could have imaged earlier this year."

Ohio voters give Strickland a split 38 - 37 percent favorability, his worst ratio ever. Kasich, a former Congressman and Fox News show host is a virtual unknown by comparison, with 23 percent seeing him favorably, 7 percent unfavorably and 69 percent saying they don't know enough about him to have an opinion.

"This race is about Ted Strickland. Because so few voters have a firm fix on Kasich, the campaign is likely to be a race to define him in the eyes of most voters," Brown added. "That will mean the Strickland campaign will be trying to convince those seven in 10 voters who don't know enough about Kasich that he isn't their kind of guy," said Brown. "In plain language that means we're likely to see a strongly negative campaign from both sides, as Kasich will almost certainly dwell on the alleged shortcomings of the Governor's record."

In the matchup, Kasich does better among Republicans, 76 - 9 percent, and independent voters, 39 - 34 percent, while the Governor is keeping Democrats 76 - 10 percent. There is almost no gender gap, generally a bad sign for Democrats. Women tip 40 - 38 percent for Strickland, while men lean to Kasich 43 - 41 percent.

Strickland gets a very low score for handling the economy, as voters disapprove 52 - 33 percent. When asked who could do a better job rebuilding the economy, 41 percent say Kasich; 33 percent Strickland. And voters say 42 - 34 percent that Kasich would do a better job handling the state budget.

"These numbers, even though they favor the challenger, say a lot more about Ted Strickland than they do about John Kasich because so few Ohioans know that much about him," said Brown.

The Ohio legislature, in which Democrats control the House and Republicans the Senate, gets a thumbs down from 47 percent of voters and is viewed positively by 33 percent. But when asked whether they would prefer having one party control both chambers, 52 percent say they prefer split control, while 22 percent would prefer Republicans running both houses and 19 percent want Democrats to be in charge of both.

U.S. Sen. George Voinovich gets a 47 - 36 percent job approval rating and Sen. Sherrod Brown gets a 46 - 31 percent score.
Liberals are Responsible

AP-

WASHINGTON – A group of doctors overseeing Nidal Malik Hasan's medical training discussed concerns about his overly zealous religious views and strange behavior months before the Army major was accused of a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, that left 13 dead and 29 wounded.

Doctors and staff overseeing Hasan's training viewed him at times as belligerent, defensive and argumentative in his frequent discussions of his Muslim faith, a military official familiar with several group discussions about Hasan said. The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the meetings and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Hasan was characterized in meetings as a mediocre student and lazy worker, a matter of concern among the doctors and staff at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a military medical school in Bethesda, Md., the official said.

The concerns about Hasan's performance and religious views were shared with other military officials considering his assignment after he finished his medical training, and the consensus was to send the 39-year-old psychiatrist to Fort Hood, the official said.

Fort Hood, one of the country's largest military installations, was considered the best assignment for Hasan because other doctors could handle the workload if he continued to perform poorly and his superiors could document any continued behavior problems, the official said.

The group saw no evidence that Hasan was violent or a threat. It was more that he repeatedly referred to his strong religious views in discussions with classmates, his superiors and even in his research work, the official said. His behavior, while at times perceived as intense and combative, was not unlike the zeal of others with strong religious views. But some doctors and staff were concerned that their unfamiliarity with the Muslim faith would lead them to unfairly single out Hasan's behavior, the official said.

Some in the group questioned Hasan's sympathies as an Army psychiatrist, whether he would be more aligned with Muslims fighting U.S. troops. And there was some concern about whether he should continue to serve in the military, the official said.

Sharon Willis, a spokeswoman for the Uniformed Services University, referred questions Wednesday about Hasan to his lawyer. The attorney, John Galligan of Belton, Texas, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.

The revelations about the concerns that Hasan's superiors had before sending him to Fort Hood come amid a growing debate over what warning signs the military and law enforcement officials might have missed before last week's massacre.

A joint terrorism task force overseen by the FBI learned late last year of Hasan's repeated contact with a radical Muslim cleric who encouraged Muslims to kill U.S. troops in Iraq. The FBI said in a statement late Wednesday that the task force did not refer early information about Hasan to superiors because it concluded he wasn't linked to terrorism.

The doctors and staff who discussed concerns about Hasan had several group conversations about him that started in early 2008 during regular monthly meetings and ended as he was finishing a fellowship in disaster and preventive psychology this summer, the official familiar with the discussions said.

They saw no signs of mental problems, no risk factors that would predict violent behavior. And the group discussed other factors that suggested Hasan would continue to thrive in the military, factors that mitigated their concerns, the official said.

According to the official, records reviewed by Hasan's superiors described nearly 20 years of military service, including nearly eight years as an enlisted soldier; completion of three rigorous medical school programs, albeit as a student the group characterized in their discussions as mediocre; his resilience after the deaths of his parents early in his medical education, and an otherwise polite and gentle nature when not discussing religion.

The Army has said it has no record of enlisted service for Hasan, instead noting that his military service began when he started the medical school program in 1997.

The official said the group became increasingly concerned about Hasan's religious views after he completed two research projects that took a decidedly religious tone — one at the end of his residency at Walter Reed that advocated allowing Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors instead of fighting in wars against other Muslims, and the other as he pursued his master's degree in public health that discussed religious conflicts for Muslim U.S. soldiers.

Some in the group shared their experiences with Hasan, all telling similar stories about repeated instances when he made religion an issue.

Officials involved at various times in the meetings about Hasan included John Bradley, Walter Reed's chief of psychiatry; Scott Moran, Walter Reed's psychiatric residency program director; Robert Ursano, chairman of the Uniformed Services University's psychiatry department; Charles Engel, the university's assistant chair of psychiatry, and David Benedek, an associate professor of psychiatry at the university.

Those officials either declined to comment or did not return telephone calls and e-mails seeking comment Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has found no evidence that Hasan formally sought release from the Army as a conscientious objector or for any other reason, two senior military officials told The Associated Press. Family members have said he wanted to get out of the Army and had sought legal advice, suggesting that Hasan's anxiety as a Muslim over his pending deployment overseas might have been a factor in the deadly rampage.

Hasan had complained privately to colleagues that he was harassed for his religion and that he wanted to get out of the Army. But there is no record of Hasan filing a complaint with his chain of command regarding any harassment he may have suffered for being Muslim or any record of him formally seeking release from the military, the officials told the AP.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the case is under investigation.

Another Army official, Lt. Col. George Wright, said Wednesday that Hasan likely would have had to commit to another year in the military when he was transferred to Fort Hood earlier this summer. It is common for an officer to incur a one-year service extension when they receive a transfer to another post.

Gallup Poll shows Democrats are SCREWED in 2010 (Thankyou Obama!)

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/11/poll-republicans-edge-ahead-democrats-house-elections/

Fresh off major Election Day victories in Virginia and New Jersey, Republicans got another boost Wednesday with a new Gallup poll that shows registered voters would favor the GOP over Democrats if the 2010 congressional election were held today.

The Gallup survey, conducted Nov. 5-8, found that 48 percent of respondents said they would vote for a Republican candidate for Congress, while 44 percent said they would back a Democrat.

Independent voters were decidedly stronger in their preference for a Republican candidate, choosing the GOP by a 22 percent margin -- 52 to 30 percent -- according to the survey.

"The number one reason for the poll results is the economy," said Larry Sabato, director of the center for politics at the University of Virginia.

"People are generally concerned that we haven’t seen more economic recovery, particularly in unemployment," he said, though he stressed that numbers can change substantially within the next year.

"The wind is going to be at the backs of the Republicans" going into the 2010 midterm elections, but "it could be anything from a breeze to hurricane force," Sabato added.

The Gallup trend mirrors results of Fox News polls, which last April found Democrats enjoying a 13-point lead over Republicans for the House congressional races. But a Fox News survey conducted Oct. 27-28 found Republicans had surged to a one-point lead over Democrats.

Combined with Republican gubernatorial victories in New Jersey and Virginia, the trend line could spell trouble for the Democrats legislative agenda in Congress, which includes pulling a comprehensive health care overhaul across the finish line, enacting new regulations on greenhouse gas emissions, and a bevy of financial regulations.

In New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie defeated Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine, in spite of President Obama campaigning heavily for the incumbent in the closing days of the race, and the state not electing a Republican governor since 1993.

In Virginia, Republican Bob McDonnell beat Democrat Creigh Deeds by a wide margin, ending eight years of Democratic control of the governor’s office.

Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., chairman of the House Republican Conference, told Fox News on Sunday that the Democrats risk facing an electoral backlash over their support for $1.06 trillion health care reform bill that narrowly passed the House over the weekend.

"I think the American people are deeply frustrated with a liberal establishment in Washington, D.C. that is ignoring their will," Pence said on "Fox News Sunday."

"If Democrats keep ignoring the American people, their party's going to be history in about a year," he said. Pence warned that Democrats could lose the 2010 elections for the very same reason Republicans lost in 2006 and 2008: over-spending.

The Obama administration, meanwhile, has played down the impact of Republican gubernatorial wins in the New Jersey and Virginias. White House adviser David Axelrod told Fox News in a recent interview that the New York contest for the 23rd Congressional District -- won by the Democrats -- was "the one race that was really a microcosm of the national debate." Axelrod, who hailed Democrat Bill Owens' victory over Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, said the administration's goal in the 2010 midterm election will be to re-energize independent voters who backed Obama during the 2008 presidential election.

"The goal looking forward to 2010 -- when we will in fact have a broad national election for Congress -- is to motivate those independent voters who voted for us last time, but stayed home this time," Axelrod said.
Vice President Biden's motorcade was involved in an fatal crash early Wednesday that left one man dead.

Biden was not in the armored SUV or limousine that killed the pedestrian on a D.C.-area parkway. Two Secret Service employees were driving the vehicles, which had just been flown back to area from Fort Lewis, Wash., after taking the vice president to a Veterans Day event there.

The crash happened at 2:27 a.m. on Wednesday in Temple Hills, Md., according to the U.S. Park Police.

Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley confirmed to Fox News that the employees driving the vehicles remained on the scene and administered first aid to the man who was hit.
Report Details 10 States Facing Looming Budget Disasters

A study released by the Pew Center on the States shows 10 states are barreling toward economic disaster.

SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- In Arizona, the budget has grown so gloomy that lawmakers are considering mortgaging capitol buildings. In Michigan, state officials dealing with the nation's highest unemployment rate are slashing spending on schools and health care.

Drastic financial remedies are no longer limited to California, where a historic budget crisis earlier this year grew so bad that state agencies were borrowing to pay bills.

A study released Wednesday warned that at least nine other big states are also barreling toward economic disaster, raising the likelihood of higher taxes, more government layoffs and deep cuts in services.

The report by the Pew Center on the States found that Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island and Wisconsin are also at grave risk. Double-digit budget gaps, rising unemployment, high foreclosure rates and built-in budget constraints are the key reasons.

"While California often takes the spotlight, other states are facing hardships just as daunting," said Susan Urahn, managing director of the Washington, D.C.-based center. "Decisions these states make as they try to navigate the recession will play a role in how quickly the entire nation recovers."

The analysis, "Beyond California: States in Fiscal Peril," urged lawmakers and governors in those states to take quick action to head off a wider catastrophe. The 10 states account for more than one-third of the nation's population and economic output, according to the report.

Historically, states have their worst tax revenue year soon after a national recession ends. At the same time, higher joblessness and underemployment mean more people need government-sponsored health care and social safety-net programs, further taxing state services.

California leads the most vulnerable states identified by the report, which describes it as having poor money-management practices. Since February, California has made nearly $60 billion in budget adjustments in the form of cuts to education and social service programs, temporary tax hikes, one-time gimmicks and stimulus spending, according to the Legislative Analyst's Office.

Many of those fixes are not expected to last. The state's temporary tax increases will begin to expire at the end of 2010, while federal stimulus spending will begin to run out a year after that.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger estimates California will run a deficit of $12.4 billion to $14.4 billion when he releases his next spending plan in January. The governor warned that the toughest cuts are ahead.

"I think that we are not out of the woods yet," Schwarzenegger said this week.

At the same time, the Legislature is hamstrung by requirements that budget bills and tax increases be passed with a two-thirds majority, a mandate that the report labeled "a recipe for gridlock."

The Pew report was based on data available as of July 31 and scored all 50 states based on revenue changes, unemployment, foreclosures and budget requirements. It also gave them grades. California and Rhode Island scored worst with D-pluses, then New Jersey and Illinois with C-minuses.

In reviewing why some states are suffering more than others, Pew found that the 10 states tend to rely heavily on one type of industry, have a history of persistent budget shortfalls or face legal constraints making it extra difficult to implement major changes, such as tax increases.

Many require a supermajority vote for passing tax increases or budget bills.

Several state legislatures were unable to enact long-term fixes. Instead, they asked voters or governors to make the call, or used accounting gimmicks to put off the hard choices until later.

For example:

-- Arizona lawmakers relied on one-time fixes to balance recent budgets as the state's home foreclosure rate surpassed California's and the nationwide average. Among the many ideas being explored by the state are a plan to mortgage state buildings, then rent the property until the state regains ownership at the end of the contract.

-- Michigan, where two of the Detroit Three automakers filed for bankruptcy protection this year, continues to offer tax incentives even as they take a toll on the state's pocketbook, leading to declining tax revenue. According to the Pew study, Michigan offered $6.3 billion more in total tax exemptions, credits and deductions than it actually collected in taxes in 2008.

-- Illinois, which has run deficits every year since 2001, is facing an $11.7 billion budget gap for its next fiscal year, beginning in July, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Pew's Government Performance Project ranked Illinois behind only California and Rhode Island for its lack of fiscal management on paying medical bills and pension liabilities.

-- With Florida facing a shrinking population for the first time since World War II, Republican Gov. Charlie Crist and the GOP-controlled Legislature balanced a $5.9 billion shortfall with cuts, federal stimulus money and tax hikes, including a $1-a-pack tax increase on cigarettes. But the future remains uncertain.

"Florida continues to face the same challenges as last year, including a very austere budgetary environment," said Rep. David Rivera, a Miami Republican who chairs both of the Florida House's two appropriations councils.

Thanks, everybody pretty much serves on my side, well since they gave up preaching, lol, and even then, some preached in the service. I have always been right down the middle in my opinion. Unfortunately for me, I have also learned a lot of history and with it a greater understanding of how certain forces have pretty much taken over our country. Capitalism when allowed to grow unregulated will always lead to monopolies and unstable economies. Economies that will be forever in a cycle of boom or bust. As long as there is a system, there will be those who will game it. If they get away with it long enough, they gain influence and more power. Allow them to hijack an entire political party and process, they will loot you blind every time. Underestimating the evil and craftiness of those for whom enough is never enough, has been the biggest problem in our country for the last 130 years. And trust me, they ain't going to manipulate the side that doesn't identify themselves as the party of business. So the republican party was a wise choice.

Politicians aren't really that smart in my experience. And I would be willing to bet you less than a dozen could actually sit down and explain to you or me in common terms how the economy really works. They have no clue. Unfortunately for them, not all republicans were evil, many saw the truth after it was too late. They retired, dropped the party or were not re-elected. Those who have been fleecing us, have been looking for a new host, and unfortunately in my estimation it is the so called tea party movement. Create a movement based on emotion, patriotism, and the good decency of the average unwitting Christian, and you have a fertile ground. Do you think that guy who lost in Newyork 23 had a deeper grasp of our economy than either you or me? Or the other 2 candidates for that matter? I doubt it.

Here is the kicker to all this liberal versus whom ever stuff. I usually troll a couple websites to see what is going on, Free Republic and Democratic Underground. Both offer a good representation of the middle and extremes of both parties, and the pulse of them both. I have been banned three times from the liberal site because I am too far right for them, so I gave that waste of time up years ago. I have never posted on the other site as it would end the same way I am sure.

If any of any of my fellow vets read this, Happy Veterans day to you. Going to go hoist one high in your honor.
The slipping dollar may increase American product sales, but it also makes it more expensive for us to buy things we don't make here, like everyday items we get from China, not to mention through interest and values our debt can actually increase without further spending, because the dollar is not worth what it was when we borrowed the money.
AP-

By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer Devlin Barrett, Associated Press Writer – 29 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Finger-pointing erupted between federal agencies Tuesday over Fort Hood shooting suspect Nidal Hasan. Government officials said a Defense Department terrorism investigator looked into Hasan's contacts with a radical imam months ago, but a military official denied prior knowledge of the Army psychiatrist's contacts with any Muslim extremists.

The two government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case on the record, said the Washington-based joint terrorism task force overseen by the FBI was notified of communications between Hasan and a radical imam overseas, and the information was turned over to a Defense Criminal Investigative Service employee assigned to the task force. The communications were gathered by investigators beginning in December 2008 and continuing into early this year.

That Defense investigator wrote up an assessment of Hasan after reviewing the communications and the Army major's personnel file, according to these officials. The assessment concluded Hasan did not merit further investigation — in large part because his communications with the imam were centered on a research paper about the effects of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and the investigator determined that Hasan was in fact working on such a paper, the officials said.

The disclosure came as questions swirled about whether opportunities were missed to head off the massacre in which 13 died and 29 were wounded last Thursday — a familiar, early stage in the investigation of headline-grabbing crimes when public officials involved in a case often speak anonymously as they try to shift any blame to rivals in other agencies.

The disclosure Tuesday of the defense investigator's role indicated that the U.S. military was aware of worrisome behavior by the massacre suspect long before the attack. Just hours later, a senior defense official, also demanding anonymity, directly contradicted that notion.

The senior defense official said neither the Army nor any other part of the Defense Department knew of Hasan's contacts with any Muslim extremists. But the defense official carefully conceded this view was based upon what the Pentagon knows now.

The FBI has launched its own internal review of how it handled the early information about Hasan. Military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies also are defending themselves against tough questions about what each of them knew about Hasan before he allegedly opened fire in a crowded room at the huge military base in Texas.

Hasan has not been formally charged but officials plan to charge him in military court, not a civilian one, a choice that suggests his alleged actions are not thought to have emanated from a terrorist organization. He could face the death penalty.

Investigators believe Hasan acted alone, despite his communications with Anwar al-Awlaki, an imam released from a Yemeni jail last year who has used his personal Web site to encourage Muslims across the world to kill U.S. troops in Iraq. Because the communications between Hasan and al-Awlaki did not contain threats or advocacy of violence, no formal investigation was opened into Hasan, they said.

Officials said the content of those messages was "consistent with the subject matter of his research," part of which involved post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from U.S. combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A law enforcement official said the communications consisted primarily of Hasan posing questions to the imam as a spiritual leader or adviser, and the imam did respond to at least some of those messages.

Investigative officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case on the record. Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Michigan, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said it was his understanding Hasan and the imam exchanged e-mails that counterterrorism officials picked up.

Born in New Mexico, al-Awlaki is a former imam at a Falls Church, Va., mosque where Hasan and his family occasionally worshipped. In 2001, al-Awlaki had contact with two of the Sept. 11 hijackers. That contact was investigated by the FBI, but no charges were brought against al-Awlaki.

On Monday, al-Awlaki's Web site praised Hasan as a hero. A Brea, Calif.,-based company, New Dream Network LLC, which had been hosting the site, declined to answer questions about al-Awlaki, citing customer privacy Tuesday.

"We do work routinely with law enforcement on the local, national and international level in an expedient manner," New Dream Network said in a statement.

By Tuesday, that Web site was offline and it appeared the site may have been hijacked, possibly by Internet pranksters.

Al-Awlaki's Web address was being directed to a new hosting account at Media Temple Inc., a Culver City, Calif.-based company. The account had been created earlier in the day but no content had yet been posted online, company vice president Alex Capehart said late Tuesday.

Hasan's electronic interactions with al-Awlaki have drawn new attention to the imam, who is well known among intelligence circles, a former senior U.S. intelligence official told The Associated Press. Al-Awlaki is considered to have deep and close links with al-Qaida but is not understood to be an al-Qaida operative, the official said.

The Senate has already launched its own inquiry into the Hasan case. Sens. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, plan to hold a hearing on the shootings next week.

Obama is Dangerous to Freedom
(1) He is Muslim and not Christian;
(2) His books tell of his hate for the White race;
(3) His wife's thesis, also tells of her hate for the White race;
(4)They attended a church for approx 20 years - same "White" hate, Trinity United Church of Christ, a radical black power church. Jesus is black. Merging Marxism with Christian Gospel may show the way to a better tomorrow;
(5) At Occidental College, Obama became involved in the anti-apartheid movement and divestment in white South Africa;
(6)Muslim extremist helped get him into Harvard;
(7)Friend of William Ayers - terrorist against the US;
(8) Obama wants gun control - only military (sounds like a control the masses step);
(9) Will disarm the US - papers are in the works at the United Nation; and
(10)Gaddafi confirms Obama is a Muslim and received Foreign Donations to his campaign.
Friends and associates:
Frank Marshall Davis (communist),
William Ayers (terrorist),
Jeremiah Wright (black supremasist and supporter of Louis Farrakhan),
Dr. Rashid Khalidi (former director of the official PLO),
Percy Sutton (Nation of Islam),
Khalid Al-Mansour (radical Muslim & helped get him into Harvard),
Mike Klonsky (an unabashed communist whose current mission is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom Obama funded him to the tune of nearly $2 million) and many others, too many to name all.
I'll close with the most interesting reading:
ACORN - Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - an organization which Obama says he worked with closely since 1985.
ACORN Manifesto -
"We are an uncommon people. We are the majority, forged from all minorities. We are the masses of many, not the forces of few. We will continue our fight until the American way is just one way, until we have shared the wealth, until we have won our freedom.
I believe I've heard Obama quote a few of these thoughts, of course in a much more covered up way.
The hell with the economy, we won't have one if we end up like Cuba. I want freedom first and the rest will follow.

Columbus Ohio. Last week a soldier with reported mental instability, and ties to a mosque tied to 911, went on a shooting spree killing 13 American soldiers and wounding more than 60. Many are left wondering why this man was not relieved of his command. Conservatives announced today that the Bush administration, while knowing this man was a potential time bomb, failed to relieve him of his command because of political correctness. Conservatives claim Bush couldn't act to remove this soldier from duty because of the aggressive and powerful lobby of liberals, (who control everything). While no Bush Administration official could be reached for comment, it is rumored that President George HW Bush spent many sleepless nights in fear of the liberal movement in this country. One liberal who was reached for comment stated, " It is sad that the conservatives will use any tragedy to further their political agenda."

Columbus Ohio. As gold reaches record highs supporters of President Obama are quick to point out that it was Republican President Richard M. Nixon who in an unusual and secret move took the American dollar off of the "gold standard" Effectively pinning it's value to a succession of ponzie schemes carried out during the Bush, Reagan And George HW Bush administrations. Obama supporters also point to the fact that a weaker dollar is not always bad. As the dollar slides against other currencies, the cost of American produced goods becomes cheaper overseas, thus creating greater exports and more jobs.

Hey Obama, everytime you print up money to pay off special interests, you screw the rest of us!

Reuters-

LONDON--Gold hit a record high above $1,100 an ounce in Europe on Monday as the dollar index slid 1% on expectations U.S. interest rates will remain low, boosting interest in the metal as an alternative asset.

Spot gold reached a peak of $1,109.15 an ounce, and was bid at $1,107.40 an ounce at 1151 GMT, against $1,096.30 late in New York on Friday.

The precious metal extended last week's near 5% gains, when fund buying took it to record highs after India's central bank buying 200 tonnes of gold from the International Monetary Fund and the dollar weakening further. "Gold is unstoppable," said Michael Kempinski, a senior trader with Commerzbank. "The forex market helps, and technically it seems pretty good. And as we know, funds like to take more in on the highs to push (prices) further."

U.S. gold futures for December delivery on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange rose $12.30 to $1,108.00 an ounce.

The dollar weakened broadly on Monday after a G20 meeting and U.S. jobs data did little to alter the view that U.S. interest rates will stay low for the foreseeable future, offering little incentive to buy the currency.

Weakness in the U.S. unit tends to benefit all dollar-priced assets, as it makes them cheaper for other currency holders.

AP-

NEW YORK — The family of the alleged Fort Hood shooter held his mother's funeral at the same Virginia mosque that two Sept. 11 hijackers attended in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there.

Whether the Fort Hood shooter associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

The family of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 and wounded 29 at the Texas military base, held his mother's funeral at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va., on May 31, 2001, according to her obituary in the Roanoke Times newspaper.

In 2001, Anwar Aulaqi was an imam, or spiritual leader, at the Washington-area mosque. Aulaqi told the FBI in 2001 that, before he moved to Virginia in early 2001, he met with 9/11 hijacker Nawaf al-Hazmi several times in San Diego. Al-Hazmi was at the time living with Khalid al-Mihdhar, another hijacker. Al-Hazmi and another hijacker, Hani Hanjour, attended the Dar al Hijrah mosque in Virginia in early April 2001.

In his FBI interview, Aulaqi denied ever meeting with al-Hazmi and Hanjour while in Virginia.

Aulaqi, a native-born U.S. citizen, left the United States in 2002, eventually traveling to Yemen. He was investigated by the FBI in 1999 and 2000 after it was learned that he may have been contacted by a possible procurement agent for Osama bin Laden. During this investigation, the FBI learned that Aulaqi knew people involved in raising money for Hamas, a Palestinian group on the U.S. State Department's terrorist list.

Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, outreach director at Dar al Hijrah, said he did not know whether Hasan ever attended the mosque but confirmed that the Hasan family participated in services there. Abdul-Malik said the Hasans were not leaders at the mosque and their attendance was utterly normal.

The Falls Church mosque is one of the largest on the East Coast, and thousands of worshippers attend prayers and services there every week. Abdul-Malik said it's a mistake for people to conflate regular attendance at a mosque with extremism.

Many Muslims pray at the mosque multiple times a day, he said. "It's part of family life. It's like going out for ice cream after dinner."

Faizul Khan, former imam of the Muslim Community Center in nearby Silver Spring, Md., where Hasan also worshipped, said he was not aware that Hasan had attended services at Dar al Hijrah but said it would not be unusual for Hasan to attend more than one mosque concurrently.

Khan said he did not recall Hasan mentioning having been taught or preached to by Aulaqi.

The London Telegraph first reported the potential link between Hasan and the mosque.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey said Sunday it's important for the country not to get caught up in speculation about Hasan's Muslim faith, and he has instructed his commanders to be on the lookout for anti-Muslim reaction to the killings at the Texas post.

He says focusing on the Islamic roots of the suspected shooter could "heighten the backlash" against all Muslims in the military.

Casey says diversity in the military "gives us strength."

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/09/schumer-calls-review-millions-stimulus-funds-aid-foreign-firms/

Did Obama bother to tell the American people that the 4 million jobs promised were for China?

Sen. Charles Schumer called for a "comprehensive" review on Monday of all renewable energy projects seeking funding from the economic stimulus package, following reports that $849 million in U.S. grants have gone to foreign wind companies in the past two months alone.

The New York Democrat first intervened last week, writing a letter to Energy Secretary Steven Chu urging him to deny stimulus funding to a Texas wind farm that would rely on wind turbines made in China. The $1.5 billion project would create up to 3,000 jobs in China but only 330 jobs in the United States, most of which would be temporary, according to one report.

Schumer spokesman Josh Vlasto told FoxNews.com that the senator is calling for a review of "all pending green energy projects" seeking stimulus funds to ensure they create jobs in the United States.

Schumer said in a statement Monday that the United States should not be giving China a "head start" in the quest for alternative sources of energy.

"Our domestic clean-energy sector has the potential to emerge as a global leader and it is counterproductive to invest U.S. stimulus funds in Chinese companies rather than our own," Schumer said.

A study in late October out of American University's Investigate Reporting Workshop showed that the Texas wind farm was just one example of U.S. stimulus dollars being channeled overseas.

The study said that of the $1.05 billion in clean energy grants distributed since Sept. 1, $849 million has gone to foreign wind companies. The study said there are few restrictions on the money.

The federal program provides for grants worth 30 percent of a firm's investment in renewable energy. According to Schumer's office, the American and Chinese companies working on the Texas farm would seek to defray up to that amount, or $450 million, with stimulus funds.

The companies are China's Shenyang Power Group, Texas' Cielo Wind Power and the U.S. Renewable Energy Group.

Chris Madison, spokesman for the U.S. industry's American Wind Energy Association, said wind projects should be using U.S. components.

"We think it's better when it's domestically manufactured. For one thing it's cheaper," he said.

But Madison said the Texas farm is an "exception" to the trend and that the American University study was exaggerated. He said that even though the government money is going toward foreign firms, many of those firms are using U.S. plants and U.S. workers.

Christine Real De Azua, spokeswoman at the same group, said the U.S. has come from way behind in its capacity to build wind turbines domestically and that U.S. firms certainly could have handled the Texas project. But she said the fact that the Texas farm was being financed by Chinese banks clearly came with "strings attached."

Overall, she said, the stimulus program has been "very effective" in growing the alternative energy sector in the United States.

The U.S. Department of Energy claimed it has limited flexibility in determining who gets the grant money. Department spokeswoman Stephanie Mueller said in an e-mail to FoxNews.com that the grants come in the form of tax credits, "unlike other Recovery Act grant programs where the department has some flexibility in making awards."

She said if the eligibility requirements are met, "they receive the tax credit."

"Any application for the Texas project would be evaluated by the Energy and Treasury Departments to determine eligibility, but no application has been received to date," she said.

In a statement released in late October announcing the 600-megawatt, 36,000-acre Texas farm, the companies working on the project claimed it would be mutually beneficial.

"This planned $1.5 billion investment in wind energy will spur tremendous growth in the renewable energy sector and directly create hundreds of high-paying American jobs," the Renewable Energy Group's Cappy McGarr said in the statement.

The statement praised Shenyang as a "fast-growing manufacturer of wind turbines."

But in his letter to Chu, Schumer said the U.S. wind industry is "fully capable" of producing wind turbines and "other high-value components" and that stimulus-funded farms should be buying American.

"The idea that stimulus funds would be used to create jobs overseas is quite troubling," Schumer wrote.

When you cannot refute or debate, you call names. Why do you say he pulled facts from his ass? Do you have proof? Do you have any proof for any of your accusations? Frankly, I am mildly surprised you spent 5 minutes (unsuccessfully) trying to fact check Morris' and McGann's article with the intention of discrediting it. Since you could not blast their statement out of the water with facts or even a contrary opinion what are we to assume? It is not unreasonable for a thinking person to conclude that you HAVE no case to argue that the AARP and the AMA were blackmailed and arm-twisted into supporting the health care bill.
Therefore, if it takes such methods to ram Obamacare down our throats, perhaps there are serious flaws in it and it should be abandoned or re-written. And that, my name-calling friend, is my opinion also.
Obamacare Endorsements: What the Bribe Was

Sunday, November 8, 2009 10:39 AM

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann Article Font Size

As the suicidal Democratic congressmen proceed to rubber-stamp the Obama healthcare reform despite the drubbing their party took in the '09 elections, the president trotted out the endorsements of the AMA and the AARP to stimulate support. But these – and the other endorsements – his package has received are all bought and paid for.

Here are the deals:
The American Medical Association (AMA) was facing a 21 percent cut in physicians' reimbursements under the current law. Obama promised to kill the cut if they backed his bill. The cuts are the fruit of a law requiring annual 5 percent to 6 percent reductions in doctor reimbursements for treating Medicare patients. Bravely, each year Congress has rolled the cuts over, suspending them but not repealing them. So each year, the accumulated cuts threaten doctors. By now, they have risen to 21 percent. With this blackmail leverage, Obama compelled the AMA to support his bill...or else!

The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.

Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP -- which supposedly represents them -- will make more money. (If this galls you, join the American Seniors Association, the alternative group; contact sbarton@americanseniors.org. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .)

The drug industry backed ObamaCare and, in return, got a 10-year limit of $80 billion on cuts in prescription drug costs. (A drop in the bucket of their almost $3 trillion projected cost over the next decade.) They also got administration assurances that it will continue to bar lower-cost Canadian drugs from coming into the U.S. All it had to do was put its formidable advertising budget at the disposal of the administration.

Insurance companies got access to 40 million potential new customers. But when the Senate Finance Committee lowered the fine that would be imposed on those who don't buy insurance from $3,500 to $1,500, the insurance companies jumped ship and now oppose the bill, albeit for the worst of motives.

The only industry that refused to knuckle under was the medical device makers. They stood for principle and wouldn't go along with Obama's blackmail. So the Senate Finance Committee retaliated by imposing a tax on medical devices such as automated wheelchairs, pacemakers, arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, artificial knees and hips and other necessary accoutrements of healthcare.

So these endorsements are not freely given, but bought and paid for by an administration that is intent on passing its program at any cost.

A manager at a Massachusetts retail store claims he was unjustly fired after he told a colleague he thought her impending marriage to another woman was wrong.

Peter Vidala, 24, told FoxNews.com he was terminated in August from his position as second deputy manager at a Brookstone store at Boston's Logan Airport after a conversation he had with a manager from another Brookstone store who was visiting the location.

Vidala claims the woman, whom he declined to identify, mentioned four times that she had married her partner. He said he then left the store briefly to visit the airport's chapel before returning.

"I found it offensive that she repeatedly brought it up," Vidala said. "By the fourth time she mentioned it, I felt God wanted me to express how I felt about the matter, so I did. But my tone was downright apologetic. I said, 'Regarding your homosexuality, I think that's bad stuff.'"

The woman, according to Vidala, then said, "Human resources, buddy — keep your opinions to yourself," before exiting the store.

Two days later, Vidala, who had been employed for just a matter of weeks, received a termination letter citing the company's zero-tolerance policy regarding "harassment" and "inappropriate and unprofessional" comments.

"In the state of Massachusetts, same-sex marriage is legal and there will be people with whom you work with who have fiancées or spouses who are the same gender," the Aug. 12 letter read. "... While you are entitled to your own beliefs, imposing them upon others in the workplace is not acceptable and in this case, by telling a colleague that she is deviant and immoral, constitutes discrimination and harassment."

Vidala disputes using the words "deviant" and "immoral" during conversations with human resources employees on the matter.

"I did say I regard that lifestyle as deviant, as in deviating from the norm, but I never, ever said to that to the [manager]," he said. "In general, I believe people don't want to hear about controversial issues like that in the workplace. They shouldn't have to."

Vidala, who has not hired a lawyer, said he is considering filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

In a statement issued to FoxNews.com, Brookstone President/CEO Ron Boire said a "thorough and fair investigation" had been completed in the matter.

"We do not comment on any specific personnel issues," the statement read. "However I will say that Brookstone is an equal opportunity employer, meaning that we maintain a healthy, safe and productive work environment free from discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, or other factors that are unrelated to the Company’s legitimate business interests.

"We are proud of our diverse workforce of varying cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds."

Asked why he felt the need to comment on the woman's personal life, Vidala, who has since left the Boston area, said he felt compelled to do so.

"I see, like all real Christians, homosexuals as people who, like me, are sinners and need to be told the truth in a loving way," he said. "In this situation, I took issue with the behavior. I think it's lunacy to call that type of behavior marriage in any kind of form. I had to express that I'm intolerant of that behavior. It's a love-the-sinner, hate-the-sin kind of deal."

Vidala said he felt "intentionally goaded" by the manager to comment on her relationship.

"She knew how I felt about homosexuality," he said. "When you talk to someone about something like that, you want their support. She was kind of looking into my eyes for that social cue for me to say, 'I'm happy for you.' But I really couldn't feel happy for her."

House health care bill has nowhere to go in Senate (Poor liberals)

AP-

WASHINGTON – The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate.

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people."

The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

If a government plan is part of the deal, "as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters.

"The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said dismissively.

Democrats did not line up to challenge him. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has yet to schedule floor debate and hinted last week that senators may not be able to finish health care this year.

Nonetheless, the House vote provided an important lesson in how to succeed with less-than-perfect party unity, and one that Senate Democrats may be able to adapt. House Democrats overcame their own divisions and broke an impasse that threatened the bill after liberals grudgingly accepted tougher restrictions on abortion funding, as abortion opponents demanded.

In Senate, the stumbling block is the idea of the government competing with private insurers. Liberals may have to swallow hard and accept a deal without a public plan in order to keep the legislation alive. As in the House, the compromise appears to be to the right of the political spectrum.

Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, who voted for a version of the Senate bill in committee, has given the Democrats a possible way out. She's proposing to allow a government plan as a last resort, if after a few years premiums keep escalating and local health insurance markets remain in the grip of a few big companies. This is the "trigger" option.

That approach appeals to moderates such as Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La. "If the private market fails to reform, there would be a fallback position," Landrieu said last week. "It should be triggered by choice and affordability, not by political whim."

Lieberman said he opposes the public plan because it could become a huge and costly entitlement program. "I believe the debt can break America and send us into a recession that's worse than the one we're fighting our way out of today," he said.

For now, Reid is trying to find the votes for a different approach: a government plan that states could opt out of.

The Senate is not likely to jump ahead this week on health care. Reid will keep meeting with senators to see if he can work out a political formula that will give him not only the 60 votes needed to begin debate, but the 60 needed to shut off discussion and bring the bill to a final vote.

Toward the end of the week, the Congressional Budget Office may report back with a costs and coverage estimate on Reid's bill, which he assembled from legislation passed by the Finance Committee and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. The Finance Committee version does not include a government plan.

Reid has pledged to Obama that he will get the bill done by the end of the year and remains committed to doing that, according to a Senate leadership aide.

Both the House and Senate bills gradually would extend coverage to nearly all Americans by providing government subsidies to help pay premiums. The measures would bar insurers' practices such as charging more to those in poor health or denying them coverage altogether.

All Americans would be required to carry health insurance, either through an employer, a government plan or by purchasing it on their own.

To keep down costs, the government subsidies and consumer protections don't take effect until 2013. During the three-year transition, both bills would provide $5 billion in federal dollars to help get coverage for people with medical problems who are turned down by private insurers.

Both House and Senate would expand significantly the federal-state Medicaid health program for low-income people.

The majority of people with employer-provided health insurance would not see changes. The main beneficiaries would be some 30 million people who have no coverage at work or have to buy it on their own. The legislation would create a federally regulated marketplace where they could shop for coverage.

The are several major differences between the bills.

_The House would require employers to provide coverage; the Senate does not.

_The House would pay for the coverage expansion by raising taxes on upper-income earners; the Senate uses a variety of taxes and fees, including a levy on high-cost insurance plans.

_The House plan costs about $1.2 trillion over 10 years; the Senate version is under $900 billion.

By defusing the abortion issue — at least for now — the House may have helped the long-term prospects for the bill. Catholic bishops also eager to expand society's safety net may yet endorse the final legislation.
Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote

Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill--whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does). The Rules Committee hasn't yet released its resolution, or rule, that must be passed before the bill can move from committee to the floor. The rule will set the terms of debate and determine what amendments are in order.

It seems likely that the rule will allow very few, if any, up-or-down votes on amendments on the House floor. Rather, the rule will include a series of amendments that will all be adopted at once if the rule passes.

On September 24, Speaker Nancy Pelosi told THE WEEKLY STANDARD that she was "absolutely" committed to putting the text of the final House bill online for 72 hours before the House votes:

TWS: Madam Speaker, do you support the measure to put the final House bill online for 72 hours before it's voted on at the very end?

PELOSI: Absolutely. Without question.

But tonight, when asked if Speaker Pelosi will leave the bill online for 72 hours after we see what's in the rule, Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly replied in an email: "No; [the] pledge was to have manager’s amendment online for 72 hours, and we will do that."

Apparently Pelosi's agreement to leave the "final" bill online "at the very end" of the process wasn't such a straightforward pledge.
