Looking for a fun cover act thats doing current tunes from the radio that includes pop from wnci etc.. a sampler or keyboard player wouldn't be a bad idea.. Would like to provide a good dancing atmosphere so that we can get out of the hole in the walls places asap. I can do up to 4 shows a month. I am only looking for about 2 however.. I want to keep the set list fresh as well. So teamwork or a rehearsal here and there are a must lest we get bored and be on craigslist again!!

Also it would be nice to at least appear somewhat appealing to a crowd ;o) presence would be a great thing to have if possible... I'm in my late 20's and actually put thought into the stage drab... Hey! can you blame me for wanting at least a small fraction of rockstar appeal?

I am a pretty good front man, but I am old...41 to be exact. I have been in many bands. I have many friends in bands... I want to start a new band strictly for crowd appreciation. I don't care what style you call it, I just want it to be commercial and professional and fun. I would like to do a funk song then a country song then a pop song and make it work. I hate to call anyone out, but I want to play to the crowd. I have done metal and hard rock, but in my opinion it is kinda dyin. Good luck with your search. Please accept this wisdom from a truly experienced musician and band member who only wants to help you to fine tune your resum�.

You may be very good at what you do. But your setback is... you're only 15. That's reality. The concept that you've been playing drums since you were 5 years old is laughable to anyone who really would consider you (or anyone in your position.) Don't mistake that for "years of experience." That's not experience, that's growing up and learning something new. We all go through that, whether it's music, sports, cooking or whatever strikes your fancy.

It's wonderful that you've taken private drum lessons and it is important that you note that in your posting. However, because you are only 15 years old, you cannot possibly have the "years of experience" that most people are looking for, when looking for a bandmate, if they are looking for anyone with a solid background. How many "years of experience" do you have playing with other musicians, in a solid band? Not many, I'll wager. You need a start-up project that will teach you how to play with others, how to handle your sound so that you don't crush your bandmates (singer, especially,) and many, many other lessons that can only be learned through the trial and error process and... with a good mentor. I hope you have one.

BTW, don't be fooled that just because maybe at one or two places, someone would put an X on your hand, they'll let you in their place of establishment that serves liquor. Many places just don't need the hassle dealing with underaged band members and that's a major hindrance for those of us who are legal ( and way beyond, lol.) Many bands... mine included... would not have anyone under the age of 21 or in some cases....the age of 18...because there are serious consequences of mishaps that can occur when dealing with minors. That may not be fair, but again... that's reality. And it doesn't matter that "your playing makes up for your age." Under-age players are a liability, unless your entire band is made up of kids under 18 and don't expect to play in establishments that serve alcohol, and unless their parents are willing to chaperone.

Reality.

If it were me looking to hire you, let me tell you, I've been in this business a long time. I know what works, what doesn't and what I'm willing to put up with. I don't care how great you are, you'd still be a liability and I'd have to babysit, which... I am not willing to do.

Zach, I will suggest this... find some kids your own age and create a band. Practice. Write. Learn ... there is SO much you need to learn. If your desire is there, it can be done.

I'm looking for someone who's done mods on the new Fender Super Champs.

I've been reading a lot about mods done to these screaming puppies. But all the shops are out of state.

Main points of interest . . .

I wouldn't mind a new cab made for a 12". Or . . .
I'd like the "external speaker" jack changed to an "extension speaker" jack so I can add a 12" cab.
I recently read about a tube set change that made the amp louder, sound better, etc. Changed the wts from 15 to almost 30. ???

Any other mod ideas welcome. :)

PS: I did purchase the upgraded Jensen speaker as recommended in several forums, etc.
I haven't loaded it. It's still in the box. So another option would be finding a black
spkr cab to put the Jensen in, and get that external jack changed to an extension jack.

Music has no age limitations. If a group requires that you be 25 its usually because everyone else in the group is of that age. Young people can obviously cater to younger demographics and play places frequented by younger individuals. I will say that the 25 age limit should be more so ANYONE UNDER 30. I happen to be 27. The group looking for a Blues Guitarist would LOVE me... Hands down. However... I'm 27 and not qualified.

To those sayin' young folks can't play the blues. Thats like me sayin' old folks have no damn business being on the internet. The shit is ignorant any way you spin it.

Young and old alike, it is our DUTY... our obligation to keep the blues ALIVE. Regardless of anything else. The old cats are droppin like flies. Yeah Kenny was a "child prodigy", who's mommy and daddy made sure that he learned every SRV blues lick. How does a kid who never even saw a cotton field play the blues? He takes lessons and learns the licks, but he'll never "feel" the blues the way they are supposed to be felt.
Like fine wine, the blues takes time.

Established cover band from Central Ohio is seeking a versatile singer. The ability to work and connect with a crowd is a HUGE plus. We aim to keep people dancing having a great time because that's the best way to build a following.

Current set ranges from Zeppelin and Sabbath to Poison to STP and Pearl Jam to Finger Eleven with some Stevie Wonder, Wild Cherry, and more thrown in. We'd like to refresh the setlist a bit to focus on more danceable songs. We'd possibly like to add some Funk and maybe a Disco medley just as an example.

Current lineup consists of a guitarist who can melt faces when necessary, a drummer who can Funk it up with the best of 'em, and a bassplayer who loves to lay down the groove.

With the right singer, we have no doubt we can work ourselves up to playing the very best cover venues around Ohio. That includes venues in Cleveland, Put-in-Bay, etc. First things first, we'd need to put together a professional promotional kit. We already have some connections that could help us land some good gigs in a short period of time.

I found out last night that the singer in my current cover band is leaving at the end of January. It's quite possible I'll continue with the remaining members IF we can find the right singer, but I'd like to consider my options as well.

I've played mostly in cover bands (but an original band or two as well) in the Columbus area for the past several years. I've played a wide variety of covers mostly in the Pop and Rock genres, but there was also a little Funk, R&B, and other songs thrown in here and there. I have professional gear and reliable transportion. I can also add some background vocals if needed. In the past, I've also taken lessons with local Jazz Bassist Andy Woodson. That isn't to say I'm a Jazz player, but it is what it is.

I do have a family and a good dayjob, so I'm not expecting to make this band my full-time career; however, I do want to make money in this band by gigging consistently. I'd like to gig in some of the better venues in and around Ohio. Good musicianship is certainly required, and I'll obviously need to be able to "click" with the drummer in your project.

The band should also have their business in order. When the band needs to record a demo or take pics or whatever, it should get done. I'm definitely not opposed to having management, but it isn't required.

Looking for a fun cover act thats doing current tunes from the radio that includes pop from wnci etc.. a sampler or keyboard player wouldn't be a bad idea.. Would like to provide a good dancing atmosphere so that we can get out of the hole in the walls places asap. I can do up to 4 shows a month. I am only looking for about 2 however.. I want to keep the set list fresh as well. So teamwork or a rehearsal here and there are a must lest we get bored and be on craigslist again!!

Also it would be nice to at least appear somewhat appealing to a crowd ;o) presence would be a great thing to have if possible... I'm in my late 20's and actually put thought into the stage drab... Hey! can you blame me for wanting at least a small fraction of rockstar appeal?

Playing kit and guitars for over 15yrs. Was out front in my last act singing and playing guitar. Hi fellow musicians,
I just got this neat new electric guitar for Christmas and I have been practicing for almost 7 hours now !!!!!!

As you can see I have everything I need, even those little triangular plastic things you chew on,
what appears to be a square black AM/FM radio with a speaker in it (But I haven't got it to work yet)

It came with a cool black belt, but I think they forgot to put the buckles on it. It also has a long black wire,
but I'm not sure what it does so I used it to tie the belt around my waist.

There are also 6 very skinny wires in individual packs that appear to be for cleaning out my musician ears,
but I tried one and it hurt really bad.

I expect to me great at this guitar thing by Tuesday and want to join a professional band and go touring in
a bus. I guess we should talk money. I figure about $10,000 for every show I play would be fair.

hello! we are looking for an undetermined number of musicians for a very ambitious project. we need a mix of males and females who are extremely passionate about music and are willing to contribute to the writing process and commit to a regular practice schedule (once a week or so). you do not necessarily have to be the best in town at the instrument you play; we would rather work with people who have decent musical skills but a lot of heart and no ego than bitchy divas. this post is largely intended to get an idea of peoples' interest in the project, so if you decide to reply you would not be expected to commit right away. we hope to achieve a product that has the soul of florence and the machine, the energy of the polyphonic spree and the scale of the arcade fire. we want it to be eccentric but accessible. as far as instruments go we only have a few specifics in mind. we know we want piano, bass and some strings, but we are open to almost any other instrument if we can make it work. as far as guitars go, we would really like a player who uses effects well. preference will be given to players who also sing. a female co-lead vocalist would be awesome as well.

i understand that this is a lot of information, so this is my last thought: this will be a largely collective creative process, of course we have a few ideas, and if you have some we are more than willing to give them a real go, but ultimately we want this to be something that develops itself. we are looking for friendly, genuine people who want to put in the work to make this project great and get it off the ground. if you think you may want to be involved, please respond! everyone will be considered and we are open to ideas and suggestions. however, people with "habits" or who just want to tell us our idea is stupid need not respond. thanks!

Band seeking Drums and Bass. We are attempting to start a band that combines Pop Punk and Screamo elements, basically very poppy and catchy with some screaming parts. Were both 22, very humble when it comes to our music, easy going but at the same time weve pretty much given up everything to try to make music our career. Our goal (for now) is to get signed so we can start touring and get our music international recognition. Thats what we want, we have big dream maybe dreams of grandeur and if you do too and are willing to put in the work to do it let me know. We have already made 9 songs so we can make an EP that will be marketed online and now we need a team to play shows...we both sing, play guitar, produced the EP ourselves, and pay very close attention to detail in our songwriting.. we try not to write songs that people will forget but songs that are catchy and people will remember...

Now the next thing is musical direction, this is really important to, because I dont want someone who doesnt have the same taste as us, we all need to enjoy this process in order to make everything work so let me know if you like these bands? (ill try to go from oldest to newest) (oh and we hate metal/country/emo/and anything that sounds like nickelback or three days grace)

The Beatles, Pixies, Radiohead, Blur, Talking heads, Gorillaz, Phoenix, Friendly Fires, Keane, mgmt, amy winehouse, passion pit, fleet foxes, bon iver, grizzly bear, Daft Punk, Empire of the Sun, Justice, Santogold, The Strokes, Death Cab, Postal Service, Mew, The Killers, Gnarls Barkley, Metric, Ting Tings, Dirty Projectors, Feist, Arcade Fire, Of course there are more but this is the general direction were heading, kinda in the new electro indie pop direction (i really dont know if ohioans appreciate this kinda music most are into standard rock, but we want to try to make a new fresh sound) (listen to bands from brooklyn, toronto, seattle, montreal)

so yea were just looking for someone like us that have the same drive and talent but Specifically:

--Someone who has lots of experience in either bass, drums, keys
--someone dedicated to music, humble, not full of himself basically
--someone who can do back up singing/harmonizing
--someone who has some sense of songwriting (please try to send us a demo of something you made, this will be a big indicator of your skill, what direction you wanna go in, and your songwriting/singing abilities (we wont be too harsh to judge)

Hi, My name is Hanif, and I host a poetry jam at Travonna Coffee House in the short north. It has been going well. Well, I know a lot of writers, as I am one myself, but there's always room on the stage for more.. I am hosting the second reading tomorrow, the first one went well and it's going to be a weekly thing at this point, from 7 to 9 p.m., and would love you if you write, or perform poetry, lyrics, or music. It's going to be a fun, creative, and laid back environment, that I think everyone will really dig. If you are a musician, that's great too, as I believe that there will be some slight instruments around.

I re-post this every week before the poetry reading, because, to be honest, it's going really well, and I've found some great poets, and really talented people on CL. (As is to be expected), so if you'd like to join in, please do!
