RESPONSIBILITIES
-Create strategic marketing plans to attract college students to try scuba diving and become PADI Open Water Diver certified.
-Implement marketing plans and track event participation and conversion.
-Communicate and organize on-campus events to promote scuba diving experiences.
-Raise awareness and word-of-mouth about PADI and the sport of diving.
-Utilize marketing materials and resources provided by PADI as well as create and recommend new materials to be used.
-Work in tandem with local PADI Dive Center or Resort to refer students for training and equipment needs.
-Be an ambassador for PADI, the sport of diving and marine conservation.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM CRITERIA:
Open to undergraduates only
-Must be able to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week
-Must be able to commit to a minimum of 1 semester/quarter
- Product Entry – We have a large number of products that we would need entered into the product databases for our websites. This task would include writing copy for these products.
- Web Marketing – We need someone to promote our sites and products on a large number of websites. This means blog posts, forum posts, social media, building links to our sites, etc.
- Due diligence/Reporting/Misc. – We are a small company, so we all wear a lot of hats. You can expect to sometimes be asked to do things that are not within the scope defined above. This is not an internship, though, and you will not be asked to make coffee or get dry cleaning. Expect that as you perform these duties, you will become an expert in website management and general web marketing, including search engine optimization.
What We’re Looking For in a Candidate:

- Solid Writing Skills – This position will involve a decent amount of writing for the Web. You don’t need to have been an English major, but we need to know that you can write competently.
- Recent grad or young professional
- 3.5 GPA
- Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline
- Laptop computer – you will need to provide your own computer for this position, should be a recent model that can handle several large applications at once.

Compensation:
Compensation will start at $1,500 per month with opportunity to make more based on your performance and the company’s performance. This is an independent contractor position, meaning you would be responsible for paying all applicable taxes and there are no benefits.
As an Intern spend a considerable amount of time learning from and working with other Ryanomics partner organizations and their relationships with mass media organizations. As an intern you will work on Social Media marketing and PR campaigns (approximately 15% of time), PR activities relating to traditional media (40% of time), event management (20% of time), internet marketing excluding Social Media (15% of time) and various administrative duties (10% of time). It is expected that you will have an impressive portfolio of work at internship end for future academic and career presentations.
