Very experienced & responsible 47 year old Mom is offering childcare in my fun, child friendly home for 1st & 3rd shift.
I offer full time care, and also have some part time openings available for before and after school, emergency back-up care, winter break, snow days, etc..
Transportation is available to and from Avery Elementary School and J.W. Reason for before & after school care. I may consider a Beacon pick up, as well.
I take all the kids with me in my fully insured, 15 passenger van, when I drop off & pick up from school. Each child will have their own age appropriate car seat/booster seat. Nobody rides in my car without the proper restraint system. A copy of my driving record is available for your inspection.
I've been caring for children since I was 13 years old. I have 5 children of my own, and 5 step children, so I have lots of experience taking care of kids. Most of our kids are grown and on their own, and only 1 is currently living at home; our 8 year old daughter.
I'm a very calm Mom, and I don't panic in an emergency. I'm Infant and Child CPR and First Aid Certified. Don't worry. I will take care of your child the same as I would my own. With love, concern and kindness.
I was a Girl Scout Leader last year and have volunteered extensively at the schools, so I've completed several recent background and reference checks. I'm also a volunteer for the Optimist Club. I have great references of both current and previous daycare parents. 2 of the children in my care have been here for over 4 years, and 1 has been here for nearly a year. I provide a stable home daycare situation for your child.
This is not a fly by night operation that I just started on a whim, or because I couldn't find a job. This is what I do because I love kids, and have dedicated my life and my home to the care of children. I'm not going to put them in a room in my basement, which I think is dangerous in the event of an emergency. They play and learn in my huge, bright and sunny playroom on the main floor of my house.
This is a fun, family setting. Not a sterile daycare center. We live across the street from Hilliard Davidson High School tennis courts, and back a few blocks, in a quiet, safe neighborhood. We're very near the intersection of Avery Road & Hayden Run. I'm only 5 minutes from Tuttle Mall.
We have a huge yard, and have lots of fun toys.
We love to play outside everyday, as long as the weather isn't terrible.
We have the Little Tikes Cottage and the Castle.
We have 2 swing sets, a sand box, climbing toys, slides, lots of little bikes, and a Little Tykes Jeep.
We have a swimming pool in the summer time.
We do lots of playing, story time, coloring, creating, pretend play, and learning to be good friends to each other.
We have a pretend kitchen with lots pretend food and cooking utensils,
A vanity with pretend make up, jewelry, and other things you would find on a vanity,
A beauty salon with lots of pretend blow dryers, play scissors, play hair products, etc…
A workshop with just about every pretend tool you can imagine,
Lots and lots of Little People & their houses, buildings, vehicles, etc...
Lots of books for story time!
Just tons of toys! Your little one won't be bored at my house.
We play in the dirt, run through the sprinklers, swing on the swings, and make big messes!
I have a dedicated nap room in an extra bedroom on the second floor of my home. Each child has their own bed/port-a-crib, sheets, blanket & pillow. I carry a baby monitor with me while they are sleeping, so I can hear every sound in that room.
I don't have a set schedule here, however, we are working on learning to read for the beginning readers, and learning numbers, letters and basic math. I set aside time each day to work on age appropriate academics. We will continue to work on this through the school year.
We do have a lot of free play, and I have lots of fun things for the kids to do. If the kids want to paint, we paint. If they want to color, or do a craft project, we can do that. I'm a very crafty type person and love doing craft projects with the kids. My hobbies are baking, jewelry making, soap making, arts & crafts and lampworking.
I provide all meals and snacks except baby food & formula. I'm very serious about kids not eating a bunch of junk food. Snacks are usually a big plate of fruit, veggies, cheese, crackers, etc..
If your child thinks that strawberries, apples, corn on the cob, etc.. is toxic poison, they probably will hate eating here. If they like home made fried chicken and mashed potatoes, stir fry beef and veggies, spaghetti, BBQ ribs, waffles & eggs, French toast & bacon, etc..... They will like eating here. Like I said, I try very hard to feed them healthy food, and limit macaroni & cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and the like, to rare situations when we're pressed for time.
You'll never find a drop of Kool-Aid in my house. We drink juice, milk, and water. I will provide breakfast, lunch & snacks.
My house is open to you, if your child is here. You may come at any time to visit your child, and please come right in. If your child is here, or you're dropping him or her off, you don't ever need to knock on my door. We have no secrets here, and I want you to feel welcome in my home.
We have a 12 year old Miniature Dachshund who sleeps most of the day, and a Mommy kitty and her babies, who aren't so little anymore. We also have a turtle, 2 goldfish, a crawdad, and the occasional toad that hops by. I'm so sorry if you're allergic to the littlest members of our family, but you definitely have a right to know they're here.
I don't go away on vacations because of my husband's work schedule and because I know that you are counting on me to provide consistent, reliable care. There will never be a day when you come to my house and I'm not available. Even if I'm sick, I know that you need someone reliable, and I won't let you down. I haven't taken a single sick day in over 4 years.
I'm available to care for your child from 7am to 6:00pm for 1st shift. 10pm to 7am for 3rd shift.
I charge a flat rate of $100.00 a week for full time care, up to 9 hrs a day for kids over 2.
Under 2 yrs old is $125.00 per week for full time care, up to 9 hours a day.
Please discuss your part time and over time needs with me, and we'll work something out together.
I typically charge $25 per day for part time care for kids over 2 years old. I do not have an hourly rate.
I have day and evening interview appointments available. Sorry, but I can't meet with you on the weekends. That's reserved for family time.
