Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.

Key Job Responsibilities

Greet patients promptly, perform introductions and seat patients.

Verify health history of the patient and document information on chart.
Take quality x-rays and mounts.
Sterilize rooms and lab operatories according to OSHA guidelines.
Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
In conjunction with Patient Relations Coordinators, follow-up and work with labs, monitor and track incoming/outgoing lab work and ensure a timely and quality product.
Monitor supply levels and order dental supplies, ensuring budget is maintained and operatories are kept in stock. (In the case where a specific Dental Assistant has ordering responsibility, communicate supply needs to him/her.)
Fabricate custom trays, temporary crowns, bleaching trays and bite rims.
Provide fourhanded dentistry; work side-by-side with the doctor and remain with patient during the entire procedure.
Ensure all instruments and required supplies are chairside before doctor arrives.
Work efficiently to ensure a steady patient flow and that the doctor stays on schedule.
Anticipate doctors needs.
Comply with all OSHA guidelines and the Dental Practice Act for the specific state.
Assist Patient Relations Coordinators with scheduling productive return visits.
Chart treatments for patients.
Prepare operatories to ensure readiness for the next procedure prior to seating patients
Address any concerns the patient may have during and after any procedure.
